Child Porn and Dancehall

Jamaican Senator Dennis Meadows has been saying about how local kids are doing the dutty wine with the consent of their parents and then wondering why child abuse is going on. Hear his words here.
He made the comments as the government passes a child pornography bill .

Jamaica is trying to do something about child abuse and let’s hope new laws do just that – but I don’t think you can lay the blame at the door of dancehall.
I have seen the kids Senator Meadows talks about, dancing late into the night on the street in ghetto areas – I’m not saying that’s right, but I don’t think it’s the reason why child abuse happens.
With abuse rates in JA significantly up – there are some things being done, but the real problem lies in some of the issues touched on here which include go-go clubs and prostitution as a means of making money.
