Corruption at the highest level

Dudus

The Americans have re-iterated their demand for the Jamaican Don man, and high profile crime lord – Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke on drug and gun charges.

They have wanted him to be extradited to face these serious criminal charges since August 2009 but the Jamaican government have been dragging their feet, some might say, burying their head in the sand, willing this request to go away.

So now – the US are strengthening their language and putting it out there by saying there is blatant corruption going on – as the Don Man Dudus has well reported ties to the ruling Jamaica Labour Party.

The US State department says,

“The high-profile suspect resides in and essentially controls the Kingston neighbourhood known as Tivoli Gardens, a key constituency for the Jamaica Labour Party,”

so all this ” raises serious questions about the Government’s commitment to combating transnational crime.

The Government of Jamaica’s ambitious anti-corruption and anti-crime legislative agendas announced in 2007 remain stalled in Parliament”.  see more here.

So, the pressure to hand Dudus over is getting more difficult to ignore.  The stakes are high because it shows up the JLP’s corruption for protecting a high profile crime lord.  This in turn makes a bit of a mockery of one of the government’s top priorities, which is to reduce crime – how can they be serious about solving crime when they are seen to be protecting a wanted man?      Their position is pretty untenable – best they just hand him over now and save some face.

I never fooled myself into believing that the government was serious about tackling crime and corruption. Handing over Dudus would be the last thing that they would want to do. He has too many secrets for too many ‘big’ men, some even from when his father was in control. Even if the extradition order comes through, I think he’ll most likely end up dead before he can get on the plane. It’s sad because, even though he may be a criminal, I think we really need to hear his side of the story.

Buildings and highrises – ha!!! Tivoli Gardens is a shithole. Please? That’s why it’s called a Garrison, because it’s a ghetto DUMP! We need a Haiti style Earthquake to sink that part of our island, that scurge, into the sea. That’s my ignorant rant!

Now for some sense. Get that CRIMINAL out of the country. And while your at it, get BRUCE (the PEDOPHILE) and the other CORRUPT POLITICIANS to go along with him on both sides – PNP and JLP. I don’t care if it’s Britain, China or the USA, if you can’t take care of the business here, let someone else do it.

What kind of people defend a madman evil criminal? No wonder the country is in the state it is. Yes, let them riot. We all know it will only be in the ghetto. Destroy themselves fighting for power after he is gone, that will only lead to less criminals on the island, and civilians not dying from bullets.

Look at what you are teaching your children. To be a DON, kill people, traffic drugs, and terrorize community.

The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) is not interested in eradicating corruption and criminality. The GOJ does not have the political will or the moral authority, because, in essence, the GOJ is part and parcel of the culture of corruption and criminality.

This is a serious misstep on the government’s part. They should let the court decide the if the irregularities the PM outlined void the extradition request, instead of just allowing it to get tied up in the pipelines.

Well firstly, I mustsay that it is said dudus as never been in the states.so how can a man be extradited to somewher he has never been b4. He has committed no crime in that country. Its just like Jamaica cannot convict someone that’s has not commited a ceiminal offense in Jamaica. It is just coincidental that dudus has connection to the ruing party.

  6. [...] All I would like to add is that this death is all the more relevant right now as Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke is facing an extradition order – which the Jamaican government is refusing to comply with.   Read more on that here. [...]

Well it’s really getting seriou now. First wayne chen then beenie men, movado, aidonia, bounti killa and ricky trooper? The next will be and you. Well since they are playing hard end let’s tell Jamaicans that are applying for visas to forget and save their money becauses chances are they will be turned down. They may even get the visa and the same usa cancel it after. They remind of buying a merchandise from an unknown criminal and the same person comes and take it from you. Well yeah USA is the finance mogul of the world but what about mexico’s Carlos Shim? He is not american but he is the wealthiest man in the world. Yes he as business in the US but it shows that we can be non americans and have success. We don’t need america. China definitely doesn’t.

  10. [...] The US asked for his extradition in Aug 2009 and were damning in their criticism over corruption and failure to hand him over in the 2010 Narcotics report.   See more on this here. [...]

After about 70 people were killed protecting this drug kingpin he obviously has some kind of status within the community apart from his drugs trade I read another article which says he give the people in his slum food and send kids to school. If it were not for the obvious lack of government interest and funds in these poor areas maybe people like Christopher coke would not get so much support and be allowed to gain such a massive criminal empire at the end of the day the government are to blame for being so intertwined with these crime lords and not funding the areas where so have such a stronghold therefore allowing the crime lord to gain support for helping his local people a viscous circle

Taken from Clifton Cameron new novel: The Making of a Jamaican Don.

Dudus was the latest don to enter the list of Jamaica’s most wanted, but after one month he gave himself up. Of all the dons to grace Jamaica’s shore, Dudus cost taxpayers the most money to repair the country’s image. Reverent Miller a man of God saw it fit to intervene so that Dudus life could be spared. There is no doubt that the security force was out to kill him, but God inspired the reverent Al Miller to work as a go- between for Dudus and the government. For the second time in a decade, the State and its security force invaded Tivoli Garden and in the end 73 innocent people died. In 2001, the security force also murdered a further 27 innocent people in Tivoli Garden. In 2001 invasion of Tivoli Garden, Adams was the aggressor working on behalf of the State. He provoked the four days of killing spree that left 27 people dead.
